Burnout among nurses working in COVID-19 pandemic

Nurses are at high risk of burnout because the characteristic their work that expends most time in delivering care to patients. This study aimed describe among nurses working during corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) using nurses' demographic characteristics. observational cross-sectional involved 149 from some hospitals and public health centers Semarang an online questionnaire May 1 June 15, 2020. Primary data were collected Maslach Burnout Inventory including emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, reduced personal accomplishment. Univariate multivariate analyses performed. The showed 63.6% COVID-19 unit levels 56.3% them 46.7% Education was only factor significantly related exhaustion depersonalization (p<0.05) with a weak correlation. environment anxiety-related factors not correlated accomplishment very correlation, while nurses’ results found develops due environment-related such as work, corona-infected patients, protective equipment usage, specific characteristics workplace. Nurses’ affect ability manage workload even pandemic. need optimal supports build self-efficacy. organizational efforts play important role strengthening prevent burnout.
